Mailing Lists

You've probably been sent to this URL because you asked a project maintainer a question directly about his/her project, without going through its mailing list.

Using the mailing list is polite because:

• Time that the project maintainer(s) spend helping you is time that they're not hacking on the project.
• The project maintainer(s) are also on the mailing list, so they're more likely to answer you there, where others can also learn from your question, or perhaps others can answer your question first, letting the maintainer(s) have more time to hack on the code (perhaps improving the thing that's currently confusing you or you're finding lacking).
• You're not paying for code or support.

Yes, joining mailing lists is annoying and not as easy as mailing somebody directly.

We feel bad/rude sending people to this page when they email us (we wish we had time to reply to all questions, because you guys using our software is so nice in the first place!), but it's a problem of limited time. Email volume is becoming impossible. :/
